Soldiers Speak Out
GUESTS: Barbara Trent, academy award winning documentary film maker
In 1992, film maker Barbara Trent made a riveting documentary about the US invasion of Panama, called “The Panama Deception.” It revealed the true motivation for the invasion and how the mainstream media collaborated with the US government to censor information and deceive the American public. Barbara Trent went on to win an Academy award for the documentary and today we hear from her about her newest film, focusing on the current US-led injustice in Iraq. Soldiers Speak Out premieres tonight in Los Angeles. It features many voices of US soldiers who have served in Iraq and are growing increasingly disillusioned with the war.

Alito’s Anti-Abortion Credentials Revealed
GUESTS: Kate Michelman, former president of NARAL, Pro-Choice America, author of the forth coming book, "With Liberty and Justice for All: A Life spent protecting the right to choose."

Documents released yesterday by the White House Ronald Reagan Library reveal some opinions of Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito that opponents of his nomination are sure to find troubling. Among those documents released, The Washington Times, obtained and first reported that in 1985 Samuel Alito wrote that, “The constitution does not protect a right to an abortion,” and that such was something that he personally believed very strongly in. Years later, in 1992, Alito voted in the case of Casey vs. Planned Parenthood to uphold a Pennsylvania law that required women to notify their husbands prior to having an abortion. On the ruling, Alito then said that such a provision was not an “undue burden.” These opinions expressed in the released memos and documents are sure to be among the questions raised when confirmation hearings begin in January.
